"The Bear" on Hulu

That finale! Wheee!

It’s actually insane they are churning out seasons at this rate in 2024. It’s like the old school TV schedule which is unheard of these days.

Nine or ten episodes a year is way less than the old days.

It is… but the gaps between wraps and premieres seem SO LONG on most streaming shows. It’s also not in the days where they only had two or three episodes in the can before airing. So it was seriously a joy to hear that the Bear was coming back so soon.

It’s been a year, just like between the first and second seasons. June 2022, June 2023, June 2024.

Did Dufresne shave his head and grow his beard out? I can’t find him in S3E10.

Uncredited cameo: what brand of caviar does Andrea Terry put on the Eggos?

The Bear is back. How real is it?

Mr. Beef pop-up at Uncle Paulie’s in Beverly Grove this weekend.

The pasta in three minutes business wasn’t real at all. In one scene you could hear it was dried. Dry maloreddus takes more like ten minutes.

I think the idea is that they were fresh and air dried. But yes, they probably used dried in it’s place for production and you heard it. Still I am glad it was Luca who got her over the hump.

Those of us around the restaurant industry will tell you that it’s pretty realistic.

A couple of my chef friends who worked in fine dining kitchens run in the same manner (like Thomas Keller) stopped watching after a couple episodes saying it was too much for their PTSD

I think the least realistic thing might have been a failing restaurant hiring three first-rate ex-Ever servers without laying anyone off.

They took the place of other waitstaff members that left. That and Richie is pretty darn convincing…

It actually was the smartest thing anyone of the staff had done up to that point as he probably talked to them about giving the restaurant a shot at the goodbye dinner. Camry and Syd were still so inward focused that night and Nat was VERY postpartum.

I mean, they may have just been biding their time until Shapiro opened up his place. The tips were set to be decent at least and it’s no wonder Jess was into overbooking because of that.

Who? I think everyone was still there. They had a lot of people on the floor.

Yeah that’s why they’re the ā€œnon-negotiablesā€ because Cicero says no more new hires/no more spending money before Richie announces them

I think it’s the first or second ep, right before Richie says he brought on the Ever folks. He names off three names which have left, Carm and Syd have NO idea who they are… which of course, they don’t. It’s moments like that make Bear the tragic comedy that it is.

Ah you’re right on that, forgot that part

It might have all been in the same scene actually. The Ever transplants appear at the end of episode 1 I think

I just remember Cicero saying that’s it, no more new hires before Richie says, well except for the non negotiables

Season 4 was better than Season 3. I have to admit I didn’t know the mom was Jamie Lee Curtis until this year.
