ohh the joy of yelp. i’ve seen plenty of others giving restaurants 1 star reviews because they can’t get a reservation.
…And conversely giving a restaurant that hasn’t opened yet a 5-star review because they’re so excited, or a 1-star because the construction is taking too long.
When I return if any questions need to be answered I’ll ask you .

We went to this place earlier this week and thought it was amazing. True… there was a huge crowd, 45 minute wait, and they’re so busy that the only time staff comes to the front desk is to call parties for seating (it’s a self-sign wait list). Dinner AYCE price is $26.95 with a huge menu, VERY fresh fish, only a few ‘one order only’ items… none of the extra rice to fill you up I’ve experienced elsewhere.
So this guy gives a long, detailed review that seems more than positive but gives it only two stars? Somehow the lack of service he complains about didn’t keep him from enjoying what sounds like half the very extensive menu! 
I was looking at Eater’s list of French restaurants in L.A. and trying to remember the name of the place on Franklin that served unmemorable food and had a cray cray owner. Oh yeah! La Poubelle (garbage can in French). How could I forget that? Well, it’s still open and she’s still cray cray.
She must own the building.
OMG! The last time I was there (probably in the 90’s) my ex either made a slight comment about her food or asked for her dinner to be hotter in temp (can’t remember the exact details on that, but it wasn’t anything rude or horrible) and the owner flipped out. She started screaming and throwing her hands around in the air until she finally said “say pardon and GO!”. So we got up mid-dinner and left—never to return again.
OMG @LAgirl! Insane. That’s why I think she must own the building or doesn’t need money. Because the restaurant biz is war in L.A. and much better places fold, yet La Poubelle continues to survive with bad food and a crazy owner. I asked someone who knows the family. Apparently the daughter has taken over and is just as bad. They basically use it as a place to socialize with friends & family and customers aren’t a priority. WTH?

I’ve had the same problem at that place. And what’s with the weird little dishes they put on the table. Can’t they afford bigger plates? Never. Going. Back. Ever.
