And this:
Gotta love it.
Curb Your Enthusuasm fans may get a kick out of this. Larry Davidâs coffee shop Latte Larryâs has a Yelp entry.
The location used was the same strip mall where the old Tel Aviv grill was. (now fish place)
Putting this here just because this thread is about Yelp!
Yelp adds alerts for businesses accused of racism
NEW YORK â Businesses accused of âovertly racist actionsâ from customers may soon see a warning on their Yelp page.
The crowd-sourced review platform said it will allow customers to flag racist behavior, and it will place an alert on an establishmentâs page when it âgains public attention for reports of racist conduct, such as using racist language or symbols.â A link to a news article explaining the businessâ problematic behavior will be included in the message

What a trashy place. I even love trashy dives; and this is still at the bottom tier. It was not the atmosphere; but more the wait-staff.
Letâs start at the top, shall weâŚ?:
We go in, weâre seated on the curb; sidewalk. Itâs Covid-Timeâs : i get it. this is the new normal; but something about just sitting at a table next to the curb puts me off at the very beginning. (unless the food is astonishingly amazing and it doesnât matter; which, was not the case)
we put in our orders;
I never received the beer I ordered - which is fine. I took it as a sign from God that it wasnât the night to drink - so I ignored it and didnât let the waitress know (she didnât notice because she was too busy making fun of me later; read onâŚ)
Iâm a nice southern gal, so I love my mayonnaise. This isnât a shocker for my close friends or people of culture who are perhaps from other countries. I wasnât very hungry; but to appease the company I was keeping, I decided to be polite and order something small; I get âgarlic french friesâ and ask for them to bring it with a side of mayo and ketchup. The waitress writes it down and responds âwow. are you really gonna dip your fries in mayo?â - so : Iâm being judged for my orderâŚOkay. this seems weird to me; but whatever. Iâm an adult.
I head to the restroom; as one does - as Iâm walking, the bathroom location is in a place where you have to pass the kitchen/waitstaff little corner; I immidiately hear âthatâs her! ew! Youâre disgusting. Mayonnaise on french fries?!?! What else do you dip mayo in ; you freakâ : at first I honestly thought maybe someone slipped something in my water and I was hearing things; but it kept going; just awful things - about how gross I am as a human being - simply for ordering a fucking side of mayo. Are you serious? What universe are we in? Iâm a nice person, so I didnât yell the things I really wished to yell back. Iâm also an adult. I am baffled at why an entire waitstaff at a restaurant that is classified as being in the âhospitality industryâ would proceed to bully a customer for ordering food and patron-aging their establishment. Do they want my money and service? Or do they want me to leave this Yelp review? Not sure.
Anyway: my friends were very sweet and supportive and one friend decided to order his own side of mayo; just to make a point. We were laughing when the mayo arrived and she looked confused. Shallow people tend to have the same shallowness in between their ears.
I also saw a heat-lamp almost topple over on top of a guest next to us; due to poor placement and poor staff. Luckily another customer caught it in time before it fell on top of this galâs head. Nice save! Too bad management or any of the staff at the establishment could not do anything about it.
The bill comes: In our waitresses defense, Iâm aware that it was very annoying that we were trying to itemize 5 credit cards with 5 different people; (mind you; this is all after the elementary-school-bullying inside) but at this point, we didnât really care if we were making it harder for her because of her ugly attitude. Ugly people get ugly treatment. I am not attacking her looks because I donât feed fire with fire (but our male counterparts were commenting on how she should never take off her mask because her face is terrifying) --they said it - not I.
so: she claimed a $20.00 âupsaleâ addition was a mistake; she âmeant to put $2.00 - so sorry for that!â We all smelled bullshit. She just assumed our friend was shit-hammered enough to not notice or care; but he noticed right away. Maybe if her and her waiter/waitress friends werenât such bullies, we would have all been like âoh whatever. she needs the $$. let it goâ ; but why are we going to give her an easy time if she has this attitude.
Despite the mess, because Iâm human, I and my gal pal both gave her a normal tip. We understand that maybe with lack of confidence or a hard upbringing, comes insecurities and maybe the entire waitstaff at âThe Woodmanâ are struggling from massive insecurity because of the fact that theyâre working at a trashy shit bar in the middle of the san fernando valley. Iâm prayinâ for yall! God Bless!!
Your friend that ordered the side of Mayo to support you is like the friend who shaved their own head of hair in solidarity to their pal that is diagnosed with cancer and is doing chemotherapy. Very honorable. Please do not ever return to The Woodman. You are not welcome. You are officially 86âd. You are the type of person who gives Raging freakin Waters and In & Out Burger a 1 star, I mean how miserable are you? You are so unhappy in your life that you take the time to leave a 1 star review for PayPal and Ticket Master. I hope you realize how insubstantial you are to us and those companies.
I like mayonnaise with my fries . I mix together with ketchup. Or better yet curry ketchup.
Moulin has four (I think) locations in South OC so Iâd think theyâre good at what they do. The owner responds to many Yelp reviews but the responses to the one and two star reviews remind me of Seinfeldâs Soup Nazi. Itâs worth scrolling through to the *s and **s.
I havenât been to France in 30 years but do recall the classic âattitudeâ being pretty normal, especially if one didnât speak any French at all. Not much patience with you if you couldnât be bothered to learn a few words. Monsieur Laurent seems to want to own that reputation. BUT my wife went there recently and said everything was delicious, soâŚ
10/10 reply
I would patronize that establishment solely on the Yelp response alone. Hilarious.
And why do you need to call someone to find out if you hate hair?
This from a review of a local bbq place. They are hit or miss and a small operation. I can see why they would run out.
But look at the tone of the self important know it all. If heâs been going to bbq restaurants that always have meat and never run out before closing, guaranteed many of those were serving leftover subpar product
âWait. I wasnât a managing partner⌠but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Expressâ
Thatâs such nonsense itâs bizarre. Running out is standard for all great barbecue places.
I clicked on his profile out of curiosity to look at some of his other reviews, most of his reviews include stating being a managing partner for many years and how he has the experience, etc. What a freaking blowhard.
I donât know what kind of crap bbq places he ate in all those years and the kind of crap bbq he served at his restaurant to never run out the entire time.
He just said âsmoked meat.â Which might have been about the drugs and sex among staff.
