Toothpaste that doesn't taste awful

I bought Tom’s for years, most recently at Trader Joe’s, then TJ’s house brand, which seemed like pretty much the same product. They discontinued that, so I bought some Tom’s somewhere, but the company was acquired by Colgate, which totally changed the product so it tastes nasty to me. Any suggestions?

huh— that explains a lot. I’m on the same journey: Toms, then TJs (now gone) and back to Toms. I currently have Toms Antiplaque & Whitening/Peppermint and it does taste a tad minty-er than before (possibly smoother/more gel-like), but not overly sweet/overly-flavored commercial big-brand toothpaste. But now that you mentioned Colgate, prob time to look for something else next time I go to the store. Have you tried any of the activated charcoal brands? I’ve tried a couple and they are decent, but leave dark gray spots all over the sink between brushing and spitting.

Not that you were asking, but

TL;DR: activated charcoal toothpastes are overly abrasive.

it felt that way when I tried them out, so I went back to Toms

We use Marvis. My favorites are “royal” and “licorice.”

I tried Marvis licorice, because I’m a big licorice fan. Unfortunately, it also has mint flavoring, and (to me at least) that combination is just gross.

I’m happy enough with Arm & Hammer Complete Care. Not too much mint or saccharine. I’d rather no titanium dioxide but it’s not like I’m swallowing much.
