Twenty Eight - Irvine, anyone been?

Twenty Eight restaurant - mentioned in a NYT article. Thoughts?

My sister went last year for her birthday dinner…she said the food was excellent and Chef Shirley came out or wish her well. The experience she had with her friends was solid.

Did your sis mention any particular highlights or dishes?

They had a “secret menu” item squid ink pasta with uni that was knock your socks off good, Chilean sea bass, beef tenderloin, and something en papillote. The selection of house made sorbets were great as an intermezzo, and the cocktails were great. This was all from last March.

I forgot about this place… hmm

I worry that it might suffer from OC-itis… but seems worth checking out.
