Weekend in Rosarito?

Tacos El Norteno in Rosarito right across from the Festival Hotel is pretty damn good and the best I have had in Rosarito. The carne asada and al pastor quesadillas con harina were better than anything I ate at Yaqui.

Better than Yaqui? Damn will have to book mark

I had Yaqui and Norteno on the same day and I thought Norteno was clearly better than Yaqui. Norteno makes their flour tortillas fresh for the quesadilla and the adobada is so delicious with a nice spicy surprise. The asada is also on par with Yaqui but I thought slightly smokier and juicier.

So grab a quesadilla harina de adobada and another with asada, then fresh handmade tortillas maiz for the tacos. My friend also got a torta and devoured it.

We all agreed that Yaqui was good but I have had better here in LA for sure.

Wow definitely down hill alert then for yaqui if used to be so good

El Norteno was really good. Just had Adobada tacos and the tortillas were corn and not homemade but the meats were delicious.

Next time get a quesadilla campechana and they make the flour tortillas fresh. Amazing!

Glad you enjoyed Norteno, place is grill meat pretty much at 6am in the morning haha

Adobada tacos from Tacos Manuel were just ok.

New to us place for breakfast. Solid chilaquiles.

If you’re looking for something different
El gaucho Argentino for grilled Argentinian Asados is delicious.

Is that a chilaquiles torta?

Yes, I’m usually of the opinion that everything is better as a sandwich but honestly the bread just detracted from very good chilaquiles.

Back to Tacos El Norteno: Adobada, carne asada and cabeza (this was the standout to me but all were good).

Apologies to A5Kobe as I didn’t take his recommendation for what to order but just thought it’d be too much food.

Churros La pasadita: I wasn’t hungry but I still ate 20, delicious!

Nice are you living in Rosarito?

No, just visited multiple times this summer. And still have eaten at less places than you.

Baby churros (These are basically my kryptonite)

Tacos El Chino (Al pastor, asada, buche). Pretty good, especially the buche. Service was soooo slow.

Ceviche, fried rice (everything (didn’t post all our food) was pretty good, ceviche was the standout)

Adobada tacos, Cabeza tacos, birria quesataco with corn tortilla, Birria quesataco with handmade flour tortilla (think @A5KOBE was right that the corn tortillas are also handmade (just not as they make your taco)). These tacos are cheap, convenient and probably my favorite tacos in Rosarito.

Mincha (because my family spends an absurd amount of money on boba). Fine nothing special

Tried to go to birrieria el cunado since it was close to where we stayed (and recommended by @hungryhungryhippos) and birrieria Guadalajara is now not at all good but sadly it closed very early.

Octopus vampiro (really delicious), Tuna tostada (fine, didn’t like the sauce), Shrimp and Octopus tostada (good not outstanding). Sadly our favorite ceviche in Baja (muelle tres) is closed until after the New Year. Anyway, not saying Tito’s wasn’t good, just not Holbox or Muelle Tres, but still better than most taco trucks in SD, and the portions are enormous so great QPR compared to the states.
