First pesto of the season.

Saved a little of the basil and the next night made Marcella Hazan’s boiled rice (I use originario) with butter, basil, mozzarella, and Reggiano.

My contribution to a grand aioli: potatoes, summer squash, carrots, salt cod, eggs. Planning to make brandade from the leftovers.

I tried J. Kenzi Lopez-Alt’s recommendation of roasting at 150 F. Four-pound Flannery prime rib roast took three hours to get to 117 F. To me it seemed perfectly medium-rare all the way through.

Is this the current home cooking thread or the other one?

I think the other one is the current annual one where are more regular posts

They’re both current. Chowhound used to have annual topics due to technical limitations so people started doing the same thing here, even though Discourse doesn’t suck. This topic is better if you want to be able to search for your old posts, which I do.

I see. I find the discord search so much more effective than CH that the annual separation is more an organizational tool.

(What I have found a problem with long threads and discord search is that it will find the first instance of something in a thread, but not later ones.)

If you search within a topic, it will find all occurrences.
