You have 2 hrs to live and you can only have one burrito before you go. What Burrito are you getting? It can’t be a breakfast burrito.
I’ll probably get some hate, but as someone who was born in SM, Tacos Por Favor’s regular carne asada burrito is my ultimate comfort food.
Burritos La Palma chicken burrito by a wide margin.
poquito mas bean and cheese (mixed beans), sonoratown, shrimp burrito at cilantro mexican grill, la azteca chile relleno
Montoya’s carne asada. Extra spicy— we’re going down swinging.
Probably a nostalgia thing: tacos villa corona’s steak and potato
I know next to nothing about Mexican food, but I do like Tacos El Compita’s lengua burrito with extra salsa roja, some horchata, and a cold Modelo.
La Azteca Chile Relleno add Asada.
This is the answer.
Oh, gawd, it’s been forever since I’ve had one (like 10+ yrs), but I used to say that I wanted the Rubio’s fish burrito as my last meal…
Here is my idea for a breakfast burrito……
Chinese sausage from Mow Lee Shing Kee (San Francisco Chinatown)
Eggs from La Banh
Scallions from Thao Family Farms
Cheddar cheese take your pick Beverly Hills, DTLA Cheese, Say Cheese, etc.
Tater tots!
Tortilla from Mejorado/BLP
I lived in Atwater Village for 25 yrs and have a very soft spot for the papas burrito at Villa Corona. I love that family (RIP Maria). Sonoratown asada is my new go to.
From my youth and no longer available. Meat and cheese medium from La Rosita in Redlands, CA. The meat was a chile verde-like pork that was delicious and super tender. The medium was the heat level and could be unpredictable. Such a great, vivid memory. I was there so much for me and my family that there could be a line of ten in front of me. All I had to do was hold up fingers for the number of burritos I wanted to the mama in the back, and they were always ready by the time I got to the front of the line. I shed a tear or two when they converted the location to a Starbucks a few years ago.
I’m old enough to remember when you could sit inside at the counter at TVC haha. Special place.
Campo’s Avocado Burrito
La Azteca is the correct answer but this seems like a good opportunity to mention my recent discovery of the poc-chuc burrito at the criminally underrated Flor de Yucatan. Better than their cochinita pibil imo.
The Poc Chuc at Chichen Itza is also fire. It’s an overlooked entree for sure compared to the Cochinita, but it has a wonderful flavor profile on it’s own especially since it’s grilled.
Where is Campo’s? ![]()
Kind of like a burrito, I love the caramelo at Sonoratown
