Wonderful Italian Gelato & Pastas - Bulgarini Gelato [Thoughts + Pics]

He is a bit of a perpetual motion machine. I discovered him on seriouseats.com. He has one cookbook, “The Food Lab” based on his forays on seriouseats.com. He is credited with developing the reverse sear method of cooking meats. Several years ago he opened a restaurant in the Bay Area, Wursthall. Has some interesting quirks like not including dessert recipes in “The Food Lab” because he doesn’t like desserts except apple pie. I have tried many of his recipes and the only one that didn’t turn out perfectly was his fried chicken.

Put in my order for tomorrow. Very excited. The lady on the phone was very nice and helpful. They can take your credit card ahead of time so you don’t have to do any payment at the store.
pint of pistacchio
pint of strawberry sorbet
2 orders of pici
1 order of potato gnocchi
1 order for pesto sauce
1 order of double cooked pasta sauce
1 order of focaccia

There should be a word for a flash-mob confluence of FTCers (a gaggle of geese, a murder of crows, a concealment of FTCers???)

Used in a sentence: Much like Antico two weekends ago, I predict that there will be a concealment of FTCers at Bulgarini this coming Saturday.

While Hong Kong and Japan have The Wagyu Mafia (a lavish wagyu themed restaurant), FTC has the Gelati MaFTCia

Are you sure you don’t mean a Gilabert of ftcers?

I’ll be there at 2pm. Please keep your distance. To prove you are part of the FTC funkadelic please show your uni or proof of your bang bang itinerary.

Thanks for the reminder. I need to put in my order of frozen desserts, too. I’ll be there a tad earlier than 2.

Wow, it took me some Googling to figure that out. I didn’t realize the reference went back that far…
For anyone that is interested in the origin story:

I was present on CH when Keith was doing his thing, and I still didn’t remember until I saw your post (although, thankfully, I didn’t need to click on the link… Heh).

I’m surprised you were able to find it through a search. Your algorithms must be strong.

Pics or it didn’t happen.

Make sure to bring your cooler.

I love his potato gnocchi and focaccia and his pistachio… ::sigh::

Bring a cold container if you’re getting gelato to-go. Leo has the potential to go gelato nazi if you forget.

What else are you picking up in the area?

It was an interesting chapter in crash and burn food blogging. I was sure you were referring to it as was rather infamous at the time. It was pretty amusing in a sad sort of way.
