the arby’s on main in alhambra is going to be replaced by a jolibee.
sometime in the last year HK supermarket on san gabriel was replaced by… i want to say golden fortune but truth be told i don’t remember - all i can remember was that it was hot out today.
Just went by NYC Seafood and they are closed. We had reported earlier in the pandemic that they were open for takeout. Yelp description makes it sound permanent.
Please post! Here or that Non-Alcholic Drink thread we had going… I love Tea and am often in SGV looking for it… hadn’t heard of Chicha San Chen or Tiger Sugar… So they are on the list. I recently went to Junbi which is a Matcha place for a Matcha with Dragon Fruit and it was magical. You could adjust the sweetness…
I would love to find a place that has brews it’s own tea (My current favorite is Pot of Cha near USC) and popping Boba…
Thanks for the update. Wow that’s really sad, I guess that leaves Monterey Park then.
Large format Canto seafood joints, unless they are also willing to offer some dim sum at night, it’s going to be super hard to survive just selling stir fried noodles, rice, and simpler entrees. Our Hong Kong Flower Lounge Millbrae opened up indoor dining over the weekend for Father’s Day and pretty much went back to closing mode until August. Low turnout and possibly something may have gone down…
We have tons of WeChat aunties up here who are more than happy to buy food and produce from private groups and show them off to their housewives sisterhood, be it trays of uni, wagyu, peaches, Taiwanese fishballs, frozen dumplings, Northern and Southern dim sum, cakes/muffins/cupcakes, and some are especially rabid for brown sugar boba ice cream / popsicles and whatever variations are looking trendy. It’s almost like a competition to out-do each other!
this is not technically WSGV but i can’t think of a better place to ask. i went to pick up something on craigslist in baldwin park and i saw a “meizhou cuisine” sign on maine. i can’t imagine why they would have, but has anyone ever been there?
