Deninos is opening up in Thousand Oaks. It might as well be in Brooklyn but maybe I’ll stop by the next time we are driving to Santa Barbara or Paso Robles.
It’s the platonic ideal of a decent slice if that’s not an oxymoron, though I may be romanticizing the average neighborhood slice of years past. For me it’s good but not special, and waiting in line for more than 10 minutes for a slice defeats its own purpose. The Tik Tok crowds are so silly, and if I wanted something quick in that hood, I’d do the spicy wontons at Deluxe Green Bo.
What is LES?
Lower East Side
Is this any good, not TO but back east?
First thing that caught my eye was a clam pie.
I think its supposed to be very good. Never had but heard good things. If it means anything to you Portnoy gave it a 9 at the original and 8.1 at one of the newer locations
How is Burratino’s? They are REALLY pushing it with the social media.
Totally. I see them all over my feeds. Never even heard of them until I started seeing their reels and/or stories. It does look tasty. Whoever is doing their socials is doing a good job.
It’s on my to try list, it looks ok like a solid local spot but just a lot of social media hype
Finally managed to try Apollonia’s square slice. Some bites had too much cheese and no sauce, some had way too much sauce, generally seemed unbalanced. Not sure if it was execution or concept or both. I liked the vibe of the shop a lot, would try a regular slice sometime.
The San Pedro Location used to be a fabulous place called Pavich’s Pizza. I miss the Croatian pizza they had on the menu.
westwood now open
Looks like Tacos 1986 has some competition for pregame meal before going to Pauley
I haven’t been excited for pizza in Westwood since the original 800 degrees opened years ago. Now that was worth crossing the 405 for!
If you guys say it’s worth it I’ll check it out
Damn!! I’ve been off carbs for months. This is killing me as I’ve never been to the OG location.
Living vicariously through everyone. I look forward to Danny Boy reports.
planning on checking out Danny Boy’s Westwood bc it’s so close…I was not a fan of their crust(too soft) and I mentioned it to Daniel Holzman…he saw me photographing the pie so he came over and we spoke…Will report back tomorrow or Thursday!
I also think their Sicilian / thick slice has been more reliable than the thin one so would be curious to see what you think!
interesting…im guessing the reg slice’s crust was weak?
