Best Pizza by the Slice?

how is Pizza Fling? their menu lists pies with different names but not what the ingredients are…

I don’t think I’ve seen much chatter here yet (somehow) so just to say it: I think Bub & Grandma’s Pizza is good!

ah, thanks…I mean to check out PFling

I like it. Good quality ingredients/toppings.

Close to my office and ordered for my staff. They all loved it.

Very light crust - can be ordered thin (which is very thin but not Neapolitan wet center), or thick (which not exactly thick but thicker).

Can’t believe the website doesn’t explain what toppings are on the pizzas. I’ll have to take a look.

Last night I had a really shitty experience at Danny boys.

Got there in 7:55 PM and they had no slices and wouldn’t be making any, they close at 9 PM.

The only explanation the counter guy would offer is “they got too busy to make any slices”

Yeah - gotta selection the pie to find the ingredients. And even then, they are quite a small font on a mobile phone. Not ideal!

wow, that’s weird…was Daniel there?

guess I’ll go and find out

Didn’t see him

Thinking now (when I am less hangry and more charitable) maybe the Dodger game really boosted their business.

I’m not sure what browser or device you’re using, but the ingredients show up for me when I click on the menu.

could be…but Im a regular…im sure that was a one off

Any opinions on LA Sorted? I’m tempted by the al pastor slice they have going for the World Series, and I’d likely try any nondairy options they have, too.

Their salads are heavy on kale which can be an iffy preparation. I love fried zucchini and if I get it, will figure out how to eat there.

I go to the Chinatown Location… A LOT. But I am there for the Salad and Sandwiches. I love their Salad Bar Salad. They somehow have mastered ACTUAL crispy chickpeas like no one has. Their mortadella is my current favorite in the genre in L.A., especially for the price…

The Pizza is really good. Especially if you like the crackery crust style. But for me, in DTLA and both being super convenient to me on the train, I prefer Danny Boys (Their recent Stromboli special was amazing). I like the sauce better at Danny Boys and the slices are much bigger.

thank you! I like Danny Boys but don’t like the airport vibes. I love a thin crust and if I get to LA Sorted for a slice tomorrow I’ll report back.

Ha! Airport vibes is the perfect way to describe it. The vibes at La Sorteds is totally opposite of that.

I picked up food to go - a slice of the Al Pastor [it’s been burning in my brain since I read about it]; and order of the fried zucchini; and a marinara medium pizza. My two adult household easily finished the order, and I would have included the upthread recommended salad, however it was not available via the website when I ordered.

It was all very good and I’ll go back.

Speaking of the website, a 20% discount was given to me automatically as a first time customer. I typically eat in restaurants and rarely pick up or get delivery. If I had wanted to, I think I could have installed an app on my phone to get a discount.

i think it lives up to the hype, i’m a big fan. I got the pepperoni jalapeno, and it was lights out. Nice crisp, nice flop, they drizzle the oil on the crust like Chrissy’s pizza does. two guys from West Orange, NJ where Jimmy Buffs and Star tavern is, classic north jersey joints. I’m already planning my next visit here the following week. you can argue it’s the best pie in LA, I don’t see why not.
