Cool, thanks! I will look forward to checking those out soon.
Though the report was from 2017, and I’m not sure if the temple is open during the pandemic, but this writeup might help you…

Gourmet Romano is donezo, no more roman style pizzas.
-
Simple Things is no more. It’s currently undergoing a buildout but interestingly a google search of the address leads to… Chris’ Drippin Chicken by Wexler’s Deli.
-
Tacos 1986 is definitely the best taco shop in Burbank.
-
Raising Cane’s is now open on Olive. Is it possible to JUST buy the chicken here? Because I hate those sides.
Yea but they over charge you just for tenders and you have to buy the sauce separately
Any intel on that fish and chip place near (or maybe next door to) Lou the French? The old chip shop? Or Auld Chip Shop?
The fish and chips are very meh, but it has draft beer despite being fast casual, so that’s a plus.

unincorporated coffee roasters taking over the gourmet Romano spot on riverside
-
hanks parking is miserable
-
F&C bang bang coming
-
Silverlake Ramen now open in DT Burbank @caleb

thoughts on Yakumi anyone?
Concur. I am definitely not a coleslaw lover (except on barbecue sandwiches or spicy chicken sandwiches) and those fries are just… Yeah, no.
As pointed out by @hungryhungryhippos , they do charge for the sauce but I still think buying just the tenders is the way to go.
I went by today as I was in the area, and that line had to be 30 cars long on the street, the restaurant itself was mobbed, there was a police presence. Yeah definitely not worth waiting in a line.
Some of it was because it’s brand new, but I drive by the Oxnard location all the time and that one is a mess too.
IMHO, Chick-fil-A has better flavor, but Canes sauce could easily be treated as a beverage.
In defense of the combo I would say you can actually create a pretty mean sandwich I hollow out the bread stuff it with tenders, sauce, cole slaw, fries, and hot sauce.
You animal, you.
I like your style.
I should have heeded this warning. This is a place that would not survive without an alcohol license.
Breakfast in Burbank for a group with kids?
bea bea’s probably has the best food, though the wait can be really long. kids like bob’s big boy. lancer’s, talleyrand, and eat n park are all basic diner / greasy spoon options.
Only been a couple times but I thought cafe de olla was a pretty friendly, serviceable+ spot.
If pastries are breakfast Artelice is the way to go. They’ll give the kids some free macarons as well.
We ended up at Lotus & Light. The Fam wanted to take a chance on Porto’s but that was a bust - super busy and breakfast was over. Went to Bea Bea’s but wait was too long for the chowpups. We were contemplating Cafe de Olla or Bob’s Big Boy or going home (we’d been at Pickwick Ice Rink since before 8am). Then saw that Lotus & Light is in the same parking lot as Bea Bea’s. Great. They added a weekend American-style breakfast menu with French & Asian twists. The kids could get their choco chip pancakes, eggs & bacon… although one really only eats bacon and the other ignored his pancakes in favor of our bún thịt gà. Progress. I liked the fluffy creme brûlée pancakes, thought the bún thịt gà & gỏi cuốn were fine, loved the curry bites.
They’ve been under new ownership for about 2 years and didn’t or couldn’t buy the previous owner’s liquor license - gone is the kind beer selection peeps were praising on the L&L thread.
Thai Iced Tea (sans boba because it wasn’t ready yet) & Matcha Viet Coffee
Boba Ready!
Curry Bites - Filling of Curried Bamboo, Glass Noodles, Carrots & Peas + Pickled Vedge
We ordered a 2nd round.
Gỏi Cuốn - Fresh Spring Rolls w/Pork Sausage + House Peanut Sauce
Bún Thịt Gà - Charbroiled Chicken Thighs, Vermicelli, lettuces, Housemade Fish Sauce
Creme Brûlée Pancakes
Smart adding breakfast, probably in hopes of attracting Bea Bea’s overflow. Worked for us. Everything was fine to good. Wish I’d ordered a bánh mì. Prices are good for the area. I’d try more dishes before giving a solid assessment.
Thanks for the recs!
B&B bagels on Magnolia low-key have some of the better NY-style bagels in town. Everything bagel seasoning is on point. Ordering can be hectic in store but has an easy online ordering system. They also have some breakfast offerings and a nice patio.
