Went today. It was fine. Nothing I’d go out of my way for but a cool space though I did get voted down on ordering the fish so definitely need to go back for that.
Bamboo Bistro replaces Hometown Guangzhou in Rowland Heights.
Gu Li Xiang Shushi replaced Qin Fen Bao in Rowland Heights.
The funny thing is “potato powder love noodle” is actually the correct translation.
Literal, but correct? Don’t think so.
I heard the new Resco opened at Azusa and Gale in City of Industry. Anyone been yet?
Apparently it is supposed to be the Chinese Costco.
Potato starch love noodle is maybe a slightly better translation.
My wife to Resco. Did not buy anything. She said they have a lot of stuff you’d generally find at 99 Ranch and H-Mart in larger quantities. There were some unique items that she had never seen.
The only thing she wanted to buy was sambal bc we haven’t seen this in a while but we don’t need a gallon. Or do we?
Uncle Roger wants us all to buy a gallon of sambal lol…
HA! If you guys go to Farmers markets, Underwood now sells their own version of Sambal in addition to their now famous revenge Sriracha. It’s less than a gallon
Delicious Food Corner opened another location in Chino Hills.
Zhu Chicken Kitchen in Hacienda Heights serving, what else, Guilin Rice Noodles with no chicken in sight, and replacing Foshan Restaurant. Note the bowl of steaming noodles in the logo.
That’s really puzzling…
Does anyone have recs for non-Chinese spots in the ESGV? I grew up here, but I’m usually just grabbing random Chinese with my mom or In’n’Out when I visit most of the time. This time I’m bringing my wife and we’re coming in from HK, so looking for things more on the Western / Korean / Mexican end of things to give her a taste of something she’s not going to find easily in HK. We’ll be staying around Pomona so having some places close by will be handy.

Both are Korean and located in the same shopping Center. Parking lot is not small, but it’s a mess.
asadero chikali (whatever you get, get it on flour tortilla) and burritos la palma; both are stretches of the definition of esgv? but worth the stretch for quality taco/burrito
