Yes, blackened. Compare their photo above with what I received today. It’s almost impossible to tell the difference.
I got the spicy version. Uses the same “spicy” sauce they use on their fried chicken sandwich.
Notice that they forgot the pickles. That probably ended up being a good thing. Why??
SALT BOMB ALERT
Yeah, the chicken does look almost breaded but it’s not. That’s all blackening spice. Tasted REALLY good, but my heart clenched and refuses to relax.
The pickles would have added even more salt. This needs tomato and lettuce to cut through it.
Size of this chicken breast was really small. Look at the photo, doesn’t even cover the bun. I just had a CFA spicy sandwich yesterday and the chicken was probably 50% larger.
Yes, Popeyes, a value-added bonus would be if the Blackened Chicken Sandwich actually contained chicken.

New item report!! The Wendy’s Peppermint Frosty!
I was alerted to its existence from a mention in The Takeout, which has sadly lost whatever value it used to have, being hollowed into a clickbait and press release regurgitator by GMO media or whatever the vulture capitalist firm calls itself.
I’m pleased to report that yes, they WILL serve you a half chocolate, half mint frosty. The mint half is a pale pink. Excuse the poor afternoon parking lot lighting.
The taste is exactly what you expect. If Wendy’s Choc Frosty tastes like a very light chocolate, the mint is the, well, mint equivalent. Lovely separate. Delightful together.
Seasonal item. Get ‘em while you can.

I just got stiffed at Burger King. My 2/$5 deal (LOL) quarter pound kings that I convert to Whoppers. X Lettuce X Tomsto X Pickles X Onion burgers came with 0 Lettuce 0 Tomato and regular pickles and onions.
Naturally I took to Twitter and had a $5 coupon deposited into my account.

My sister and I tried it this week.
The chocolate was nice and light, but the peppermint was so light we both could hardly taste it.
Still enjoy a frosty from time to time.

I would say, if anything, the mint was enough that the chocolate almost got lost.
Maybe my place had a heavy hand with the syrup. Or yours had a light one.

It looks like everyday, once per day, you can get a light snack at McDs…
I may be alone, but I think I like the McDouble better. The extra slice of cheese-like-substance on the double cheeseburger is a bit much for that amount of beef-like-stuffs.
