I’m sure it involves a cherry limeade and side of chili cheese tater tots. I used to love them, and then I figured out how to make superior chili and up my cheese game. They have since lost their lustre for me.

I thought the Chi’King was damn good (when it first came out) despite the stupid non marketable name.
Wonder if this is really the same chicken just in a simplified form.

I went to burger king for the first time in many years . I ordered the regular chicken sandwich with fries .
Would I order it again.Yes.
Filled the void driving back to my house with one hand on the wheel and the other on the sandwich.
It held together well without falling apart.

So being the pig I am, and, these days, a miser, I decided I had to do the Wing Stop BOGO deal.
First I will say this is FAR from FAST food. 20 minutes at the store, even though I ordered online and it took me 10 minutes to get there. So 30 minutes total.
I got a plain, to see what it’s about….

Yeah, it’s plain all right. There’s very little in the way of seasoning. It’s definitely a blank canvas forever seasonings or sauces you add to it. The bun was very bteady, and way too dense for this. I could see maybe it would be necessary if you get something like Buffalo or atomic or whatever something with a strong flavor. But it felt like way too much bun. The chicken was lightly crispy, good texture. Cooked nicely. Size of the breast was very similar to Chick-fil-A.
And after hearing they are sauced heavily (not a fan of that) i went with Louisiana Dry rub.
So this was an absolute salt fest. The salt from the seasoning, the salt from the pickles, we’re just way too much. After adding the optional ranch dip to it it helped to take away some of the salt factor. But not a fan. this would have worked better with lettuce and tomato too.
Then, because if you order over $3 at BK, you get a free NEW Version of their chicken sandwich.

AND a bacon Swiss
So this is nothing like the Chi’king, imo. The chicken itself reminds me more of the new Wendy’s chicken rather than the chi’kings similarity to Popeyes.
The spicy had what seemed like an oil based Buffalo tasting sauce, with hints of garlic. A little heat. The chicken on this one was seriously juicy. But the flavor of the chicken coating is just ok.
The bacon Swiss was…. A chicken sandwich with bacon and processed Swiss. It was also ok.
I guess I expected more from them since the Chi’King when it first came out was so good. I can only think it was too much work for them and since it didn’t sell as well as they hoped, take an easier path.
They’re serviceable. I don’t think you go out of your way to get one. I’ll stick to the Whopper.

Thanks for the reviews. I also loved the Ch’King for its flavor and crunch. Pretty sure I read in a news story that one of the reasons for them removing it was exactly what you mentioned with too much work.

Okay! I have to breaK in here and ask if anyone else would call this a “Cherry Lime Rickey”! If you would, where are you from? I grew up on Long Island, NY and that’s what I’ve always known it as.

My barber is next to a Checkers/Rally’s so I always stop by after a haircut. My app account had a 50% off entire order reward so I got two half-pound chicken bites and fries boxes, a large chili cheese fries, two small funnel cake fries, two chili dogs, and a double patty fish sandwich for $15.41 
The fish sandwich wasn’t bad, pretty solid crunch.

HA! A cherry lime rickey to me is lighter than a Cherry Lime ade. Kinda like a sticky sweet Soda Chanh . At least that is my experience from the ones I’ve had in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. It’s a seasonal ice stand favorite (and I always order it.)

It was multiple meals/snacks shared with others. Then I hit the home gym after, and I’m averaging 10k+ steps a day so I think I should be good…
