Favorites at Trader Joe's?

OMG— I got a bag yesterday and they are really tasty… not as good as the blue cheese Irish potato chips that they had in December, but pretty darn good

+1 for the quinoa cowboy veggie burgers. I keep them in the freezer to put on bagged salads for my work-from-home days.

I really disliked the Tom Yum seasoned snack mix.

I consider them a good base for customization. I top w/ shredded cheese toward the end and then top w/ salsa when I’ve plated it. If you want to be decadent, you can put some crushed tortilla chips on top.

Oh, @cjla, never thought about them as a salad topper!

I have a love/dislike relationship with bagged salads. I eat them frequently and don’t particularly enjoy it. However, when I eat them at home and can put something warm on top, it makes it feel a little bit more like a meal.

Chicken breasts, maybe hard boiled eggs, however, most frequently is one of the quinoa cowboy veggie burger. No other will do.

Oh, i totally get that! I get the organic rotisserie chicken that’s already been pulled apart from Bristol Farms, freeze it, and then I’ll pull chunks out to microwave to put on top of my (very basic and sparse) salad when I want to feel a little classy.

driscolls organic strawberries are very good right now at TJ’s on average better than the standard ones at the local farmers market and were even better than the regular smith farm’s organic montereys last week.

Binging with Babish dropped a frozen snack tier list. what say you FTC?

9 - Chicken Tikka Samosas, Thai Coconut Pancakes, Sweet Potato Fries, Roti w/ Red Curry
8 - Crispy Shiitake Mushrooms, Steak & Stout Pies, Pork Gyoza Potstickers, Creamy Spinach & Artichoke Dip
7 - Char Siu Bao, Jumeokbap, Parmesan Pastry Pups, Pork Shu Mai, Vegetable Spring Rolls
6 - Brazillian Cheese Bread, Buffalo Style Chicken Poppers, Potato Tots, Spanakopita, Vegetable Samosas

For me, I think the samosas are about par with each other and are probably at the 8 level, needs to be consumed with their chutney. Parm pups (aka pigs in a puff pastry blanket with parm on top) should be rated higher. All the chinese snacks should be lower. Thai coconut pancakes also really good.

What are these things? Delicious and limited? I will have to check them out!

I grabbed this screenshot from the TJ’s website and here’s their description:

Champ. Boxty. Colcannon. The list of Irish, potato-based delicacies is a like an all-star, comfort food showcase. We set out to create a snack that recontextualizes these dishes’ iconically Irish mix of hearty potatoes, rich, creamy butter, and aromatic alliums into a chip, and our search took us directly to the source. Now, coming to us from an Irish supplier, Trader Joe’s Garlic Butter Irish Potato Chips are made with crinkle-cut, authentically Irish potatoes and flavored with authentically Irish butter and garlic, so that every bite is crisp, exceptionally savory, and oh-so satisfying.

Salty, buttery, and delightfully garlicky, with a charmingly toothsome texture, our Garlic Butter Irish Potato Chips are excellent as a standalone snack or as an accompaniment to a sandwich, soup, or salad. (We’re particularly keen on layering a few Chips into a sandwich, for an extra bit of crunch and flavor.) In a feat of epicurean engineering, they’re also sturdy and substantial enough to carry all kinds of creamy dips and condiments. We recommend pairing them with our Caramelized Onion Dip for a full-flavored, gameday appetizer, or our Spinach & Kale Greek Yogurt Dip for a deconstructed take on colcannon.

I’m pretty anti-snacking nowadays due to my inability to control myself with said snacks but I will definitely have to try these out!

Heard the black sesame ice cream is very good but I haven’t been able to find at the Brea location. Anybody have the black sesame ice cream and can confirm?

I asked about the Irish butter potato chips, they aren’t a regular item and my local store might have another shipment around the 3rd of august. So maybe it’s the same for the rest of the socal area :person_shrugging:

Balela salad (chickpea). Don’t know the authenticity of this but I like it. Around $3 and pretty filling.

Those gold bbq chips any good? I saw them today.

I grabbed a couple more bags at the Hollywood store on Saturday and I also happened to be at the Silver Lake store yesterday (forgot a couple of things) and saw them on the shelf there as well.

Darn ill check out another tjs in the area

Unlike in a lot of other supermarkets, there is almost always a TJs Captain in the birdsnest and they are there to help you with questions about stock and deliveries. They can look into their system if they are set to recieve any item, so you can check if it’s just out of stock or not coming back. Something like the BBQ chips are seasonal.
