Did you try at Rolling Hills?

I saw them last week at Del Amo Torrance.

I’m a big fan of their ginger thin cookies - I like to break into large pieces and put them on a dish of ice cream. (The cookie diameter isn’t big enough for a sandwich.)

A friend recommended the Spanish tortilla but I won’t buy it again. Bland, not enough onion flavor, texture like mashed potatoes.

When I was on the check-out line, everyone working there was salivating over the spanish tortilla and telling me how good it was… yeah, I had the same opinion as you unfortunately. womp womp

I’ve been eyeing that tortilla since they introduced it, and especially hard during the egg shortage. Thanks for the warning.

I didn’t like these at all – very strong fake garlic taste & after-taste. And greasy. But they certainly seem to be popular.

Both samosas are meh – the Whole Foods ones are much better.

The chicken gyoza are my favorite of the various kinds, I think all their gyoza are good quality and value. The pork shumai is also pretty good for generic frozen.

Surprised both the scallion pancakes didn’t make the list (Chinese & Korean) – they’re both quite good. And the kimbap, which is better than the jumeokbap (which I like, that’s not a ding).

Spanakopita are hit or miss depending on how many times they defrosted before they got to you – if you can separate them, they’re excellent, but 4/5 times that’s a challenge.

The Papas Rellenas are pretty good, but maybe they’re not always in stock. And the tamales are good for those of us who don’t have many local options (I’m still upset that they don’t have the sweet corn ones anymore).

Yep! There are Captains, Mates and Crew.

Has anyone ever seen a sign saying “opportunity buy”? I haven’t.

I have not seen it as a sign, but I have seen it as a point of conversation when I ask about something. Like recently it was the lion’s head mushrooms. I went to ask to see if they would return… They said it was an opportunity buy. I haven’t seen that fancy tuna back yet. I’m afraid to ask if that was the case. :frowning:

Finally got the butter chips I did not love them. I will probably still eat them because I have a problem with snacking

The butter tastes almost cheesey and the salt levels are extreme. Additionally the garlic is highly pungent, this is a miss for me!

The big spanokopita is way better than the little individual one. More filling.

I never said each of my decisions is a good decision.

We had lurking in the freezer a TJs vegan holiday roast from November 2024. Finally, by November 2025 but post Thanksgiving we gave it a try. It was a sodium bomb, and didn’t taste like much. Now, I know keeping it in the freezer probably didn’t make it taste any better, but if there’s someone out there like me, who has one in their freezer. Well, make sure you have other food in the house as a meal back up plan.

Maybe I’ll try the Costco Thanksgiving plate next year.

Get the horseradish and chive! The ketchup is also very good as well. Or alternate between both for your inner coach potatoe desires

I thought the horseradish and chives were too salty

My wife brought home the cashel blue cheese Irish potato chips. They were vile. I love Roquefort and blue cheese but I thought these chips were just awful. Anybody try and actually like these?

I saw them and passed you and your wife are brave souls!

I actually do love these, but I also like Salt and Straw’s pear & blue cheese ice cream.

These chips remind me of that ice cream (except for the pear). Could be all the milk powder, buttermilk powder etc on the ingredients? More of a creaminess than cheesiness.

I have to admit I always look forward to when they’re back on shelves! Thanks for the headsup!
