What else did you eat?

I wanted to write an article for the Super Bowl pitting New England vs. Seattle in food form, and ending up eating this delicious North Shore 3-Way. It was created by a pop-up/catering business called North Shore Roast Beef who seems to be popping up at a lot of South Bay breweries.

Rare beef round, white American cheese, mayo, and James River Barbecue Sauce. Had a few of these on trips up the coast to Maine and New England road trips, but it has been so so many years. They also made a replication of the sausage and peppers sandwich you get at Fenway, and it was really good!

Thanks for the report back! P grew up with NE Style Roast Beef sandwiches and we very much miss Top Round, so I have been curious about him since I saw mention of his Pop up at brewery I am often at. We make our own at home (We are currently trying to tweak our Onion Roll recipe) and this bun gives me a little pause, is it decent?

I did not grow up on these, but I thought the bun was excellent. It is flattened from the griddle, but it is nice and soft and sweet as I think is necessary.

THANK YOU! I just did not want to judge by the picture, but that makes perfect sense. Even more excited to track him down soon!

Is that a solid chunk of steak in the beef round sandwich or is it thinly sliced and just looks like a thick steak?

Thin sliced.

If chipotle is to mission burritos, Arby’s is to north shore roast beef

Thinly sliced. Then called balled up.

Prime Pizza in Brea is open. Basically take out only. They have a few tables outside. Nice clean space. The crew is humming on day 3. My order was pre-ordered online for 5:15 and the food came out at 5:13. Pizza taste and quality was the same as El Segundo and Lil Tokyo.

7 mins from my house. Could not be happier.

I don’t think a Queens guy like you would but if you are feeling adventurous Prime has a really good ranch sauce to dip your pizza in lol in fact you can buy a bottle to take home and corrupt your kids

Izakaya Funhouse, Little Tokyo

Named after The Stooges record!

Super cool interior. All originals on the wall. Those punk flyers are incredible. Black Flag, Gun Club, Screamers all classic LA punk.

Really enjoyed this curry! Those are fried shiitakes. You can totally go straight edge here in keeping with the punk ethos. Owner is super cool to talk to.
