Very disappointing that my local Albertson’s/Pavillions and Ralph’s stores seem to have given up on dogs in natural casing. I was able to find some Hoffy’s until recently, but I’m finding that my list of ‘have to go there JUST for a specific thing’ items is growing lately. Annoying! The Hoffy’s were OK but seemed to lack the flavor of my memory. I’m in South OC, CA.

I tried these today and didn’t like them. Fyi. It’s interesting because I don’t like Pink’s either.

Heads up to my fellow Fork in the Road lovers. The name change is official, they are now branded True Story. Same Dog. They also are on sale this week at Whole Foods. Honestly, for a beef based dog… it’s a great price.
Also on sale are Pretzilla buns. These are my favorite Pretzel Buns. We especially like the Sausage buns for these hot dogs. They also freeze well.

Is there still a dog in natural casing? Pretty sure there was one under the original name.
Yes. Those are the Might Good Dogs I have pictured. Very snappy and juicy.

Hmmm. Every other natural casing dog I’ve ever seen says “natural casing” on the package. Don’t see it in that pic or on their website. I’ll check at Whole Foods next time I’m there.
If you look at their ingredients. It says at the very end, in a natural sheep’s casing.

Boar’s Head has a natural casing dog that is pretty good. Much better are the coney dogs from Jim’s Fallbrook market, and, my favorite, the frankfurters from Schreiner’s in Glendale.

South OC here, but thanks anyway. One of my local markets carried the Boar’s Head until last year but no more. Kinda strange because they still have a bunch of other Boar’s Head products.

A few years ago there were “issues” with their plant.
As of this year though the hot dogs have come back. The last time I saw them they were at Sprouts. Instacart is listing them as available there for me.
I haven’t tried them since they came back. But previously there were my house hot dog before discovering Fork in the Road.

I stopped eating boars head period after those “issues.”
