Fucking La Taqueria. Not that it’s bad, but it might be the third- or fourth-best place in that block.

All of the LA places are on the current LA101 list or the Hall of Fame except for one: RVR.

Personally I think the Marshall Store kind of sucks. They’ve had the sub-par restroom situation for years that means they can’t have on-sale beer and wine (only off-sale). Why would I go there when I could have a nice, comfortable meal with a bigger menu, better food, a good wine list, and a nice bathroom at Tony’s half a mile away?

chaak kitchen and phoholic are new.

I neglected to look at the Orange County section.

What’s better than La Taqueria on the block? That was the only place on the block that scratched my SoCal burrito itch when I lived in SF pre-COVID. The others were great when I was intoxicated.

To be fair to Addison, I think of La Taqueria as the lazy choice for critics who haven’t eaten at enough Mexican places to have an informed opinion (like Patricia Unterman back in the day), but in fact when he was at the Chronicle he ate at 85 taquerias in ten weeks. And I’m a taco guy, not really into burritos unless they’re classic Sonora style.
