The stone crab at Siegel’s in the El Cortez in old Vegas are a good value if you just want that, but nowhere near as nice a venue as Joe’s of course. Pretty sure they are large (probably not XL+). $65 on fri/sat night. Good stop if you’re in the area and the Laundry Room for cocktails is a nice hidden speakeasy nearby.
Maybe CES specific catering to corporate cards but my friend said they had 6 sizes of claws at Joes. They have 6 different sizes? Anyway they said the claws were amazing.
Regular sizes: medium, select, large & jumbo
Bonus: extra large & colassal
Extra large claws run about the size of my hand.

A very quick 36 hour trip…but will be back next month.
@AmaroNeverDies @doublestuffedpierogi Turkey & the Wolf is excellent! That biscuit sandwich is delightful…I polished the thing off even though I was stuffed from Jean Georges Steakhouse the previous night. Loved the Crystal hot sauce to cut through the decadence of creamy scrambled eggs, Duke’s mayo, melty cheese and a generous helping of bacon.
Venetian’s Via Via food hall is likely best of all the food halls on the Strip because the mix of options varies so. BS Taqueria, Howlin’ Ray’s, Ivan Ramen, All’antivo Vinaio, Scarr’s Pizza, and Turkey & the Wolf. This might be enough reason for me to head this way more often.
@js76wisco Gymkhana was very good! I mean it has to mean something as I was walking by 10 minutes before opening to find a ton of Indian folks lined out front, right? I slipped in for a bar seat last night. Bar service here is a hoot, and I was treated to the BEST butter chicken I’ve ever had. Complex flavors that hit your palate in waves with just the right kind of heat that makes you go back for more bites. The former Julian Serrano space is completely unrecognizable as you step into a private and posh London club.
On a whim, I dropped by Brasserie B by Bobby Flay at Caesar’s. They have a room in the kitchen dedicated to just making fries. The fries were great…and a nice snack to go with a very solid French 95 and their version of a Greyhound.
Got into town late so we had an easy dinner at Jean Georges Steakhouse. Service here is as excellent as could be. We could not have felt more well-taken care of.
Highlights: heart of palm salad, Dungeness crab cups, Yukon mash, spring peas (so so good!), U3 prawn from Madagascar, and the sauces were fantastic.
They slightly overcooked our proteins by a smidge. We didn’t want to bring it up since we were having such a good time. My only other gripe was that the passionfruit seeds in my cocktail kept getting stuck or lodged in the straw. They should either nix the seeds to give folks a boba straw.
how’s the bar situation? did you get “lucky” or does it seem like someone could walk into the bar at most non-peak times?
I found both Scarr’s and Ivan Ramen at The Venetian’s Via Via food hall to be quite mid / skippable
if this was the version that was going to open in LA, I don’t think LA is missing much
shio ramen was ok…like what one might find as a pretty good version for an airline lounge maybe but nothing id go out of my way for
The bar was great. The place was pretty packed, but I did get lucky. There were 2 seats available at 6:30PM on Easter Sunday, and people didn’t really linger. When I left a little before 8, there were plenty of seats at the bar.
If you get in, Tony & Courtney are both fabulous.
