There aren’t many late night food options in Burlingame but the one exception is Buena’s Organic Soft Serve https://www.buenasorganicsoftserve.com . Founded by somebody originally from Mongolia where ice cream and soft serve seems to be the favorite dessert. But she found American soft serve too sweet but also didn’t want to use artificial sweeteners. So she started this shop with high quality milk from Valley Ford Creamery and uses significantly less sugar which is quite apparent in its taste - very creamy yet dense/substantial but not very sweet and the different flavors come through quite nicely
Leo’s Taco Trucks https://www.leostacostruck.com have become quite well known in Los Angeles but 2-3 years ago they decided to expand to San Francisco - first Outer Richmond and more recently San Mateo. There aren’t really many late night taco options (or any late night options) in San Mateo. I came quite late about 15 minutes before closing down and the four tacos were just OK - decent meat quality (but no pineapple for the al pastor), tortilla commercial but warmed/griddled well but the meat amounts were quite skimpy and the salsa bar offers meager. For a late night options it wasn’t too bad (but far from the quality of good Sam Jose places) but during the day there are much better options just 10-15 minutes away in Redwood City
There are a number of late night snack options in SF ranging from tacos, Korean to Japanese food but surprisingly few options for a sweet late night dessert. More recently the Habibi Crepes https://www.instagram.com/crepes_truck?stkn=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== truck has opened in South San Francisco on the food truck “cluster” on Linden Ave. They have some savory options but their main focus is on sweet crepes (and some milkshakes and smoothies). Turns out to be very good freshly made crepes with substantial fillings. Won’t be our last time at that truck
