Give us the foodie porn!

So horrible at pictures. Figured I get two different things to try. I got the student noodles and Loat Cha. Wow that loat cha was excellent. Not that the student wasn’t. I just thought the flavor and the pin noodles were so different. I would get this again for sure. Also grabbed a meat bread which I downed before a picture could be taken. Thank you all for the trips. It was a bit early for ice cream by the time I finished work. But next time!

Good choice the Loat Cha is excellent! One of my favorite stir fry noodles in LA/OC

The noodles have a good chew but absorbs so much flavor and contrasts nicely with some veggies.

YAY!! Thanks for reporting back! That is another thing that makes PP such a great place… their portions are NICE.

Of course! I had to report back when everyone told me to go! I mentioned FTC to the owner and i told her EVERYONE said I had to come here. She was so excited and happy. Was there right at noon and they had a good 5-7 orders for take out. Hopefully they can get back to inside dinning soon!

I went on July 4th! The Chicken Katsu Curry was excellent! Apparently it is Kanazawa (Ishikawa, Prefecture) Style. Very bold and less sweet than typical Japanese curry the sour cream was a nice touch too! The lease at Steel Craft is for 3 months, so they decided to go for it while they wait for their Little Tokyo location to get the go-ahead to open. Hopefully it does so we’ll, they extend their SteelCraft residency!

You see… that is EXACTLY what I had hoped for! Still planning to take a visit this weekend… I didn’t realize they were at Steelcraft! In addition to having Smog City there… Long Beach Creamery is just up the street!

Little La Lune on PCH at Cherry is also quite good for Cambodian.

Someone please go try these at Gusto Bread so I can live vicariously through you, since I can’t make it there this weekend.

I’ll be about a mile west of CSULB this weekend. Any recommendations for pick up/to go?

I’m working remotely for part of it, and will have access to a car for all of it. Casual and good eats. My house has one shellfish allergy and one dairy intolerance. Neither of us like American BBQ that much, and the weather will be wet and cold enough I’m betting I’ll want soemthing hot.

I’ve got my eye on Phnom Penh Noodle Shack and am grateful for any other pointers.

Tacos Lionydas and Tacomasa are not too far. Gusto Bread is pretty incredible. A&J Seafood is a classic. Have heard good things about Selva and Bar Envie.

A little further out in LB, Rose Park on Pine has a really impressive and creative food program. There’s lots of good coffee around, and I would drink as much Beachwood as possible if you’re into beer.

@cjla I like their NOM HING (ROUND BREAD)

Image from their website. It’s one of my favorite comforting childhood snacks. Give it a try when you’re there. I really miss it. Hard to find a good version of this in LA.

Even if you stop by Gusto and just get a pack of their Crustini… it’s worth it…. :yum:

Long Beach also has the only SoCal outpost of the Italian Homemade Market. I’ve been impressed by the stuff I got from them on Locale.

Naga Cafe Khmer Street Food. We had the House Noodle Soup and Poached Chicken, both are very good. Thai food as good as Chiang Rai is rare. Kneads Donuts and Tea has very good Vietnamese coffee. You can sample their blend and then adjust to your sweetness level. La Chancla Mexican Grill specialized in guisado, and food is gernerally very good. Next-Kitchen good for snacks and fast food. When I was there they small batch egg tarts so it’s always hot.

[Note on Gusto] Need to make sure they have what you are looking for. They do change their offerings. The coffee shop across from Gustois pretty good; they serve 49th Parallel. Good place to enjoy your pastry.

Thank you, all!

I went to Gusto this morning and purhcased one loaf (sliced) of Cali bread, one piece of sesame flatbread; and one Nixtamal Queen. The sesame flatbread and Nixtamal queen have been eaten - delicious! I’m looking forward to the bread. ($25 before tip)

I went today too! I picked up another bag of Crostini (I suggested they put them up on Locale. They are just the best!), Sesame Flat Bread, their Media Luna Croissant and their Biscuit which will be enjoyed tomorrow with the new Fork in the Road breakfast sausages I got! Can’t wait!

By the time we got there they were out of my favorite Huesos Quebrados (their small snackable Epi), any of their savories and it took all will power to pass up on their amazing polveron.

Took the kids to the aquarium today so stopped by Little Coyote on the way home for lunch. Sadly, I don’t think it is nearly as good as Prime. Their white slice was really good and the only thing that was better than what Prime offers. Their square slight was downright embarrassing.

Sadly Gusto isn’t open on Tuesdays, but Pan Estilo Copala Guerrero was just off the highway on the way home so we stopped there. The son let me know they’ve got a brick and mortar spot coming sometime next year at the strip mall where the 7/11 is right around the corner.
