Can’t wait to see what he does there. I’m already quite a fan of Lulu, and it’s way closer to me than was Cafe 2001!

Welp, it didn’t make me miss cafe 2001 any less!
There was a lot good including a full duck breast on the 75$ tasting menu which was a good deal imo.
The big miss was the wild king salmon which I get was supposed to be fully cooked (slow cooked) but too dry for me.
Edit: Hope he gets more influence on the menu as time goes by maybe I’ll check back in in a couple months

That Rigatoni in the yellow pepper cream sauce made my day. Sweet pepper dessert pasta. Great steak salad. I’ve never caught steak on the chez panisse café menu, always wanted to. Shoulda added a carrot soup.
The big standout I regret skipping was the créme fraîche ice cream and roasted grapes. Anytime I’ve had grapes at Chez Panisse they’re an incredible focus, and the grapes in the steak salad kicked ass.
Steak into apple sounded good tho, and the crumble had granny smiths. Enough said
