It’s the fermented chili sauce, and habanero honey they use on some of the other pizzas. Chili sauce is properly hot.
Went last week with my wife, we ordered the Lucifer and the Mushroom. Crusts on both pizzas were great and unlike any other pizza I’ve tried. Really enjoyed the Lucifer, wasn’t expecting that much spice but it works! I love crispy pepperoni, and Lynx does a great job at it. Didn’t love the Mushroom though – found it a little one note with the raw mushrooms taking over. The lemon juice helps, but still in need of some more interesting textures/flavors IMO.
Cocktails were good, on average. Really really enjoyed the Kyoho Grape Sour and Melon Julius. Both of those are contenders for best cocktail in LA. The Clover Club was solid but a little too sweet for me. Didn’t like the Sudachi Daquiri– they added mango to it which really threw off the balance, and I think it needed a lot more acidity.
Timing on pizzas and drinks was good and we didn’t have to wait too long. That being said, the service from Brandyn (also in charge of the drinks) was atrocious… to the point that my wife refuses to return. I still want to try the Sweet Cheesus and Filleti, but I guess I’ll need to find someone else to come back with (@PorkyBelly).
Power rankings:
- Sei
- Lynx
- Apollonia’s
- Quarter Sheets
- Pizzeria Bianco
Wow, would love to know more if you’d share - when I’ve gone service has been….. casual. In a way that I could see people finding a little grating. But nothing atrocious.
love to finally read an honest review.
Please elaborate!
I agree on the mushroom, that’s my least favorite.
My top 4 would be Lynx, Sei, Mozza, Gjelina. It’s really close between Lynx and Sei for me but ultimately I prefer the crust at Lynx, even though I’m not completely convinced by the current set of toppings. I like the toppings better at Sei; simpler and more right. I miss the toppings at Leopardo, which weren’t so idiosyncratic and edgy.
We went to Sei Pizza Bar last night and it was excellent, especially for the Naples style they serve. And yet… still craving Lynx.
leopardo scissors for a five top was a nice touch.
really loving the napoletana now, flavors and seasoning are nicely balanced with the larger tomatoes. now my second favorite behind the lucifer.

My favorite version of a Skenes Napoletana was at Leopardo, in terms of what I would keep on constant rotation
This weekends tho might be the freshest pizza I’ve ever had, that raw tomato 'chovy brine combo and the olives.
a crisper Sweet Cheesus with maybe less base cheese made a lot more sense than the version I had two months ago. I loved that version and this one kicked it up.
Is the mushroom very messy to eat?
very, it feels like i just did a line after eating a slice. key is to keep the slice as flat as possible while eating.
yeah got some cotton candy elements to it
No Melon Julius last night (had trouble getting the fresh fruit) and the raspberries were stuck together in a big frozen block in the soft serve.
Other than that, fantastic meal.
I can’t decide if I like the Filetti or the Lucifer more.
Yeah the mushroom pizza is a mess. I wish they’d make a more typical melted gruyère-ish cheese and mushroom pizza.
I don’t think the mushroom is that bad yes some mushrooms fall off but over all pretty straight forward if you know some toppings are gonna fall off
cocktails now $19 from $20 and new mango and apricot on the menu.
