That *Mathematicians Say This Is The Best Way To Slice Pizza* headline is bogus. The question posed by the paper was, “Can we construct monohedral tilings of the disk such that a neighbourhood of the origin has trivial intersection with at least one tile?” They mention pizza only once, in the second sentence, as a common example. Somebody at New Scientist wrote it up as providing new ways to slice pizza, and PIzza Marketing Quarterly took it even further down that path.
