Roberta's pop-up

i guess they got resurrected?

Perhaps someone treated me to that (delicious) pizza?

In any case, this quote from John Lithgow on “3rd Rock From the Sun” applies: “… I’ll have you know that I’ve been pre-approved for Gold Status!”

Darn. looks like it’s already fully booked.

They’re saving spots for walk-ins. But it’s not like Roberta’s is offering anything at the Rose that you can’t get at the Platform pop-up, other than garlic knots (big whoop).

On a Friday, lunchtime?

Sooooooo…weather did not permit. We had a limited set of dates to work with before they had to drive the oven to SXSW, and this godforsaken winter simply would not cooperate. Apologies if I had prematurely gotten anyone’s hopes up, nobody is more disappointed than I am.

I swear to God, I’m gonna get me some of that pizza this time around!!! Did the article say when it’s starting? (I didn’t see a date)

Sadly it does not. They haven’t announced a date yet, just sometime in December.

But yes, still very exciting news! It really is worth making an effort to try their pizza. This isn’t even my favorite style of pizza yet I love it. The crust is so flavorful.

I don’t really get the excitement… We have several great pizza spots in town. Are you guys really fiending this badly to go stand in line for it? yes it’s good but we already have good… is it the location?

You should try it. Personally, I love the crust and the crushed tomatoes they use. And location is great, but I’m willing to drive to Fairfax to get a marinara pizza from Jon & Vinny’s, so it’s not only the location, though that’s a huge plus. It’s really a great pizza.

I’ve had it twice when they were open yea it’s good. I just don’t see it being supremely better than Sotto, DeSoto, J&V, even that pizza at that bowling spot in highland park… pizzanista and that new sunset junction spot i haven’t tried yet.

I suppose it’s pizza that appeals to my particular taste. For a long time it was Mozza, now I have Lodge Bread and Jon & Vinny’s to fill that spot. i don’t particularly like 98% of the New York style pizzas or Roman-crust style pizzas. Although, due to the teenager living in my house, we eat an awful lot of Blaze pizza. I kind of like it.

Roman pizza at Eataly is pretty tasty but has a very thick, chewy crust.

Roman pizza usually has a thin, crispy crust, from what I understand.
