Popped in last night. It was nottttt crowded. Please go guys. The food was probably my favorite iteration other than when Fox was actively in the kitchen and maybe more my preference!
their beef tartare with cheddar/chili/chips is like a gringo taco tartare. We both loved. Very good corn and shishito app. Watermelon in chili oil with cucumber nice. Sungold gnocchi spot on. Fried vermillion with various sauces (corn, avocado, Calabrian chili) reaaaaal good too. A off menu quesadilla for the baby and a free scoop of Weiser watermelon sorbet for her at the end was a nice touch. Cocktails also great
Seems like Resy fucked up when listing the event and made every seating for 5 (hence my comment before) but in the process of fixing it undid all the 5:00’s.
Resy took my money and told me inexplicably that it was cancelling my reservation at 5pm without refund. Now I need to talk to a human at Resy. But that seems out of the question, as Resy has no easy way for customers to communicate with them. Reaching out to the more tech/platform savvy folks here for help.
I’m not tech savvy but I’d suggest talking to someone over at Rustic Canyon. I’m guessing they can either resolve it themselves or have a back end customer service line for ressy customers that gets a human.
Hoping to drop in for Happy Hour tonight. The website seems to reflect that the Happy Hour menu has been pared down to two items and chips. Is that genuinely all they have at this point? Or is the paper menu still more extensive?
The handful of times I went, the online HH menu was always up to date with the in-person HH menu, even when it was frequently changing. So, sadly, it looks like RC HH has been neutered
i love dunsmoor’s pork chop but i think i might like rustic canyon’s more. the quality and execution are both really high but rc has them beat on sheer replay value alone. the quince on this visit was a perfect sweet, autumnal complement to the pork.
the steak, not your typical thick cut (about half an inch), was tender and delicious too.
other highlights were the bonny melon sorbet with chamoy and fried sweet potatoes.
only note is pacing sucked, they fired everything in two courses.
Nice to see Terry Ranch on on the menu a couple times. Those ladies are so sweet and their fruit is so delicious. I think they have the least manicured table at the SMFM
