Picked up some excellent and very fresh mochi from Chikara. Selection here includes peach, coffee, peanut butter, sesame, nadeshiko (I think), and, my favorite, suama.

Adore Dessert Cafe Redondo Beach

Mushroom Onion Quiche. This is very good. Overall savory pastry and sandwiches look very promising.

Chouquettes. Had this before, easy to eat a few of this in a few minutes.

Owner sold the original Little French Bakery and open Adore after a couple years. They also start serving homemade gelato. Wife had a highly rated gelato store in the same space before Little French Bakery.

Poulet du jour. poulet salad used to be one of my favorite meals now a specter of its former self. Salad was bland and dry and no taste. Chicken was dry and chewy and highly lacking in pita chips :frowning:

Same! Finally made it to Tommy and Atticus. Was with the trip. Only had a croissant which was delightful. But would love to try the cookie brownie, olive pigalle, etc. That said it’s a 25 min trek and I need something closer.

Everything in the South Bay takes freakin 25 min. It took me 30 min to get to the freeway lol

Tomizo Ramen “Authentic Hokkaido Ramen, handmade with love.” From their About page.

Cilantro Gyoza. Great flavor with crunchy feel. Refreshing.

“Tomizo’s original Sapporo Style Miso Ramen” with scallops added. The Miso flavor is deeper and more pungent than I have ever tasted before. Ramen is fresh and al dente. The ingredients are nicely portioned, as opposed to getting a big lump of ramen with a sprinkle of toppings.

Mazemen. This is fine, but I should have picked the any other ramen . But I got hooked to Ramen Joint’s Mazemen, still the best. And just want to compare this to Mazesoba which I had in two different locations. This one is better than Mazesoba.

I am very hopeful about this place, and I can visit this place more often now they are also open for lunch.

Thank you @liq

Iron Chef Mapo Yakisoba from Eboshi. Pretty cool we got a Chuka specialist here in the South Bay. I freakin love every Japanese-fusion style food. French bakery, Italian, etc it’s all good. All Japanese customers.

This is pretty damn spectacular plate of noodles.

I’ll have to come back and try more stuff. I see they make their curry too.

I never been to Japan but I imagine places like Eboshi, Komatsu, Shoya, Fukuno are about as Japanese as you can get

Baran’s Friday Special BB is available for order starting Wednesday. Wait for their IG announcement. Didn’t know Tigres start selling BB. That would be a plus for me.

They’ve had it for a minute. Barans only had ham and plain today so I called tigres instead. Plenty on fridays!

Yeah salsas are definitely top tier! Also the way they deconstruct either the hasbrowns or tater tot’s so they’re so evenly distributed

Will be in El Segundo without a car. Any good street tacos nearby?

Honestly you might be out of luck.

For food in El Segundo it’s pretty much going to be centered around Main St. Another part would be on Rosecrans (mostly chains). The rest of the city is aerospace and oil companies.

Ali’i is a real good poke place in El Segundo. Better to go earlier than later as I think the poke sometimes gets too salty. You can also get ahi burgers and the smoked dip is really good.

Sorry I know you asked for street tacos. You might have to walk over/Uber/Lyft to Hawthorne or Inglewood if you really want street tacos. I wouldn’t walk personally.
