They smurfed it!

Last week it was in California MartâŚ. Both sizes⌠big grip and little grip. About that price. I think itâs the manufacturers going rate. Also, some markets in the valleys are starting to carry the underwoodâs. That is our house Sriracha, altough it is pricier.
I got a bottle from Amazon a couple of weeks ago. Texas Peteâs, of all brands, makes a sriracha that turned out to be a viable substitute and will likely find a place on my shelf (along with the original, of course) going forward.
Do not buy Korean pears yet. Itâs still way too early. Iâd give it at least another few weeks. Bought a 3 pack each of the last 2 weeks and both 3 packs were not very sweet and a little soft. Does not have the sweet crunch we all expect. Iâd wait until after Thanksgiving and maybe even into early December.
Somebody at Tokyo Central is not good at the maths. I ended up buying 2 single apples instead of the 2 pack.
Yeah but I want the ones from Japan, since I have no idea where Japa is. ![]()
The nijiya organic tofu is in imo the best out there dollar for dollar.
Used to buy meiji a lot but nijiya is almost as good at less than half the price.
âReal saltâ WTF?
Some friends bought this weird product. I expected it to be jerky but it weighs a lot less, is totally dry, crunchy rather than chewy, and didnât have much if any beef flavor. Reminded me of freeze-dried camping food. The company also makes 100% beef âflourâ and âbutterâ (i.e, tallow).
Is this a deal? Always wanted to try one of these melons but too rich for my blood. Tokyo Central Yorba Linda.
These strawberries on the other hand donât look like a good deal.
Gift NYT Times article on the growth of luxury fruit.
I was curious after David Chang said he liked Reeseâs Puffs. Couldnât taste peanut butter. Couldnât taste cocoa. Couldnât even taste corn.
âBrown breadâ
I heard it called sweet wheat. This is my favorite bread for sandwiches hands down. It might be a So Cal thing because they donât got this on the east coast. Probably not popular up in the Bay because of the Dutch Crunch (check out Subculture in Huntington Beach if you like Dutch Crunch!!)
This bread goes really well imo with chicken salads, tuna salads, and pbjâs. Also like it with bltâs and basic turkey sandwich. If I see a place with squaw as a choice you know I am getting it.
I wish more of these sandwich shops in LA and OC make a killer in-house sweet wheat.
You sure they donât have something like that on the east coast under a different name? The supermarket version is basically white bread with some rye, maybe other grains, bran, molasses, sugar, and caramel color.
It probably also has to do with the view that the word âsquawâ is a slur. I first heard that claim about 25 years ago and it seems like itâs still an evolving issue but this editorial gives a very rough impression of the issues surrounding the naming of that bread. To be honest, I think thatâs a really poorly written article generally but I didnât really find a more comprehensive one addressing the bread specifically on first google.
EDIT: Removed quote since it no longer is relevant
Thank you for that. My bad I will change that from here on out. Had no idea tbh. I will use sweet wheat instead.
