Hints of lime, a tad of warmth from “chile” flavor. A little tangy.
I need you to try these and tell me if I’m imagining that there is a distinct taste of…. CORN flavor. Almost like they added “corn” flavoring. VERY noticeable on the first taste, but less noticeable if you keep eating them. Take a break, or drink something, and take another Cheeto and there’s the “corn” taste again.
They’re tasty, probably mostly because they’re not good for you LOL. But I definitely prefer regular and the jalapeño Cheetos best.
I took a look at those street corn snacks, but don’t really feel like forking over $4 for a smallish bag – if there’s a single-serving size, I’d try that instead. Frito-Lay has been pretty good about sending coupons, etc. for the couple of times I really didn’t like a particular product, but I don’t want to push my luck.
I too really like the Jalapeño Cheetos, but the regular fried ones taste more “corny” to me. We eat the Jalapeño Cheetos on long road trips, and refer to them as “road smack”. Bear in mind that S.O. otherwise eats a pretty healthy diet (mostly vegan). This is a rare exception.
I got mine by filling out the comments form on their website when I didn’t care for a new snack they came out with. They sent me a coupon for a free bag of my choice (up to $4.29, which I believe is their max non-sale price), plus a couple more for $1 or $2 off, IIRC. They show up in the mail with a nice note.
Costco is in possession of Lay’s Summertime BLT potato chips.
And like a sucker, I bought them.
The bacon flavor is there. I also get some type of lettuce, but I did not detect tomato. Not sure if mayo is part of the mix. My sister opened the bag to investigate and conduct research.
The chowpups will polish off the bag without reservation.
I’ll just eat the Maui BBQ chips I also picked up.
I couldn’t reproduce the whole page, but here’s the copy from the Brach’s site:
