This post will probably be more annoying than welcome here, simply because you all do such a great job at describing particulars with photos, etc., but I still feel the need to post something now. Perhaps I will embellish later with photos and dishes. Dining out often seems like running the gauntlet. ‘We should go there’, ‘we should try these dishes,’ you should like this,’ etc. it’s the tyranny of the shoulds! I often leave stuffed and confused and have a hard time recalling eating somewhere let alone what I liked or didn’t. But these places, all visited within the last few months made me very happy and the food was very memorable. In no specific order, Baby Bistro, Little Fish, Rustic Canyon, Matsumoto, and Vinfolk. Creative, passion comes through in the dishes, and makes me want to return. No tasting menus, no wine parings, no ‘shoulds’. Just great food and dining experiences. -LM

So you’re saying we should go to those places?

Are there any specific dishes you enjoyed at Rustic Canyon? I get it though if you don’t remember. Sometimes I go to a restaurant and just leave happy and contented and a few days later I have no memory of what I ate (because I hate taking pictures when dining and hate writing notes either), so I just have a hazy memory of a good meal.
