Bill seems to shout out la taco once in awhile on his stories. Wasn’t bill really rude to Javier when he was younger or something? Not sure of the full story.

Essentially they had a generational and upbringing divide of the idea of being a “street gourmet” Javier thought that it may be putting immigrants at risk and wrote a passionate post about it calling Bill out specifically. Bill thought that attitude was patronizing to entrepreneurs.
It’s a very complex argument among the Latino Community to THIS VERY DAY (official campaign Mass Deportation Now signs were handed out at the GOP convention this afternoon), that back then was a bit more grey because now you can’t say an immigrant street vendor is being strong armed into coverage if they already have an Insta.

I’m in Bill’s camp - went to the HP location since I drove by it for the first time- it really is all white people and asians (the asian being me) .
I don’t get the fuss. It’s difficult to handle as a taco. The salsas are very mild and kinda flavorless to me. I don’t care how “authentic” it is, I just didn’t find it delicious. Maybe it’d be different if I had the meat tacos, but based on how they cut up their meat, I don’t think you really get much in flavor anyways.
