October 2022 Rundown

Kueh is often compared to Japanese mochi. Both are made with rice and have a chewy texture. The difference is that kueh is a bit firmer, but as with any pastry, kueh comes in all sorts of sizes, shapes, colours and fillings.

Sorry, are “kuih” and “kueh” the same?

If you’re getting info from the internet, providing a link can be helpful.

The term kuih is widely used in Malaysia, Brunei, and Singapore, kueh is used in Singapore and Indonesia, kue is used in Indonesia only, all three refer to sweet or savoury desserts.

Hi @PorkyBelly -

Where is this? My search comes up with NYC & SGV. Thanks.

It’s the NYC one.

Lady Wong is in nYc (same street as Veselka), with a stall in Urban Haeker as well.

Not sure why this is in a west coast thread.

hi @TheCookie, nyc. thanks.

Thanks @hal. I was asking about Yoshino. But in answer to your question: members post what they’re up to on the Monthly Rundown thread no matter where they are in the world.

Yes, sir, but no one know what Burlingame is if they’re outside of the Bay, and they’re moving to South Bay next summer. SF is a better pin on the map for them :bowing_woman::sweat_smile: Sorry, I’m also very bad with directions.

They are moving to Saratoga or somewhere south eventually.

Ate there. Quite good but spoiled by techies in their 20s in hoodies and crap sneakers also eating there. But I suppose their money is as good as anyone’s.
