Pizzeria Sei

I just made one today for two weeks out but I have Global Dining Access, maybe that’s what makes a difference? I remembered at 12:51, went on and they had a couple lunch slots and 4 dinner slots (4,5,8,9) for two sundays out

Thank you. Maybe Global Dining Access, which I do not have, is the difference.

Mystery solved. Reservations now open up two weeks in advance at noon. Not midnight.

And yes, I’ve been stalking on Resy to figure this out. It’s for bf’s birthday, and Sei a week after his birthday will be better than no Sei at all.

Was there last night, you know, breaking fast. Light meal: cesar, diavolo, tiramisu. I’ve never had a bad bite and last night was no exception. The place is running on auto pilot and on point. Perfect pizza. Optimistically, targeting Feb ‘26 for Overland.

No pics but delicious as always. We had the tricolore salad, funghi pizza, special margherita, and a side of prosciutto cotto. Last one was a surprisingly large plate of slices for $6. Brought a 2022 Williams Selyem Pinot from my cellar (ie the wine fridge in the garage).

how was the walk-in line?

Very busy on a Saturday evening. Our reservation was at 7:00pm. Given the size of the place and the location of our table, we could hear all the conversations at the front desk. By about 7:30-7:45 they stopped taking names for walk-ins.

everything was great as usual, but the pizza hailey, riviera, potato caviar, mala garden and beef noodle were incredible. pacing is also much better, about 2.5 hours now, nobody left in the middle of dinner. looking forward o trying the new dough at the new location.

Thinking of taking the kids for weekend lunch during Xmas break right at open. If we can’t get reservations do they still keep half the seats for walk ins. Has anybody gone recently and will we be able to get a table for 4 on the first turn?

I’d also put yourself on the waitlist/notify via the reservation app for the window you want. Might come up between now and then. I have had luck at opening and at odd hours (2PM) on weekdays.

Yup we have no problem getting there 15-20 mins early if we can get a table.

I went a few months ago on a weekend and got there 10 mins before opening and was the second party in line. The line quickly grew as we got closer to opening though. Not sure if it’ll be different around this time of the year though.

@TryTree did you get a table right away? Thanks

Yep, I did.

Got there Sunday at 11:50. There were ~6/7 groups ahead of us. Might not have made the first seating unless a friend helped us with a reservation. Chef even sent out the mushroom toast and mala lamb pizzas on the house. Sat at the pass and there was a non stop flow of take out orders. There was a line of 4 people waiting when we left at 1pm.

Mushroom toast was delicious. The oil and balsamic mixed well with the umami.

Very generous charcuterie plate. All the meats and cheese were delightful. This was for 4 people and it was a lot.

All the pizzas were delicious but our surprise favorite
was the mala lamb. My wife hates gamey meats and she went for a 2nd slice. The mushroom pie was different than the Mother Wolf mushroom but just as enjoyable.

Ahh, sorry I steered you wrong! I must have gotten lucky when I went

No worries @TryTree might have been a busy weekend with the holidays. They are a well oiled machine and we would have waited regardless.

Sei was firing on all cylinders without chef William in the kitchen. Can’t wait to see his new location opening in possibly early spring? Every bite was exceptional with special margherita, mushroom, Mala, tiramisu and Caesar being the best. Only slight nit was that the vinegar and olive oil on the bottom of the crostini made the bread fall apart before eating but the Lardo, mushroom combo was still outstanding.

a pro tip is that the gardinera really helps lighten the inherent heaviness of the pizzas and gives you more room to try food. Mrs hippos and myself were appropriately stuffed after dinner but it was so good can’t wait to go back!
