Pizzeria Sei

RESERVATION SPOKEN FOR

I got my sister a reservation tonight at 7:00 PM for 2 people. (I am also going tonight but at a different time).

She’s not feeling well. There’s a fee to cancel within 24 hours so she’s hoping to find someone to take her reservation.

DM me with your cell # if you want the reservation!

Same. Couldn’t find any reservations when I tried at noon today. Both DoorDash and SevenRooms.

Thank you @attran99 for the reservation. We had a wonderful time. Our waitress said the reservation release lead time is fluctuating between 1 week ahead and 2 weeks ahead. They are still trying to figure out what works best.

The new space is very comfortable, compared to the OG. The two special pies, Mala Garden and Diavola, were really good, as was the Margherita Sei. The specials were not on the standard Neopolitan style dough/crusts. The Mala Garden crust was fried and puffy. The Diavola was thin, crisp, and came in a 14” size. My favorite of the night was the Riviera. The balance of flavors and the uniqueness of tuna conservas as a topping was unexpected and pleasing.

Dessert and apps were also excellent. I’m not a big fan of apps and dessert, but glad we got to try the suppli, gem salad, and cassata parfait.

Parking on the street was easier than expected to find.

We are very appreciative of @attran99‘s generosity and the FTC board that allowed us to land one of the hot tables in town.

Same here. I was stalking from 11:50am onward.

outstanding dinner and a noticeable improvement over ff. the marinara was way less soupy with that same crisp-soft mochi crust at the og. the 4 culture diavola is still on that insane thin and crispy crust but the toppings seemed more balanced. mala garden has more spice, it was a bit toned down before. and pacing and service was excellent, we ordered ooe x2 and even with a full house everything was coursed out just right so we were able to eat everything piping hot.

you wouldn’t even know this was their first week open.

suppli was the highlight of the appetizers, great crunch with melty cheese in the middle. pro tip save the crack vodka sauce for dipping.

salad and broccolini were surprisingly good and not just an after thought.

only thing that was okay were the croquettes, the exterior was crispy but the chicken was a bit dry. you definitely need the sauce with it.

executing the napoletanas at the same consistency as the og and introducing two new doughs at scale is impressive. top pizza in la.

Checked at noon today and looks like at some point they opened up for 11th (the one I was trying to get yesterday) between yesterday afternoon and now.

An awesome dinner with an awesome crew!

The scrocchiarella thin pizza was crazy good and my favorite. Loved how all the different things melded together, sweet, sour, savory… just incredible pizza despite being very stuffed late into the dinner.

Also loved the rivera pizza. I definitely am partial to vinegary flavors and this worked very well for me with the tuna and onion.

Of course all the pizzas were amazing. My only regret was being too stuffed to truly appreciate the new mala. I could tell it was very good but at that point I was very far gone.

Dessert and appetizers were great too. Pro tip from @hungryhungryhippos, if you have table space you can leave some of those appetizer sauces to go with the leftover crusts. Delightful as they are, those sauces can really help break things up. On the other hand, you’ll probably end up devouring too much bread (good and bad thing). The orange sauce for the suppli in particular goes very well.

I guess I do have another regret: not knowing when my next visit will be. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Fried corn flake and corn puree ball, my lawd.

Ragu and new mala lamb top the list of pizzas for me. Patate with caviar is low-key one of my favorite uses of caviar.

Great company, great meal, my only regret was only have one stomach.

No notes favs were the corn ricotta, 4 culture diavola, ragu, and potato with the excessive amount of caviar which pairs so well thx @PorkyBelly

Sei is firing on all cylinders and very excited to see chef Williams new creations.

Also want to note that the company was excellent who would’ve guessed that a bunch of food obsessed weirdos would make such fine dining companions.

Wonderful dinner! It was a privilege to get a big table in such a small space (although bigger than pico sei).

I had to think a lot about this but if I were taking someone new and they wanted to try the hits then I’d tell them to get the mala and the 4 culture. Very different than anything anywhere else. From the appetizers, must get the chicken croquette and suppli. Both desserts are amazing, I think its the ice cream.

heading back to LA this weekend and Sei is top of my list…what’s the consensus on where to make a Rez and when? The bifurcation of sevenrooms and DoorDash is confusing to me is it shared inventory??

Inventory is the same between the two platforms. One backend serving two frontends. Anecdotally it may appear quicker on 7R but unclear if that’s actually true. Reservations theoretically go live 2 weeks ahead of time at noon but sounds like the schedule has been a bit in flux.

Almost every day I’ve seen posts on /r/foodlosangeles of people offering up Sei reservations within the 24 hour no cancelation window so that may be a way to sneak in quicker.
