Taste of Chao Shan replaces Ho Kee BBQ and Noodles in Alhambra. What a mob scene!

The kway jap would be one of the things to get there. AFAIK one of the few places to get this dish is at Siam Sunset. Add some white pepper before you dig in.

And after a fantastic grand opening, Taste of Chao Shan in Alhambra is closed for remodeling?

Health Department probably said they need a sink or bathroom added to maintain permit to operate…

Curious if this would be an issue for a building which has been continuously operated as a restaurant for a hundred years. It’s the last remaining Chili Bowl restaurant location in Los Angeles.

Got @JeetKuneBao -fluenced x 2. First, picked up zhongzhi from @JLee & Mom. Had them for dinner and loved them! Great texture and balance of flavors.

Then, checked out Tai He Ju. Tasty fried chive-egg dumplings and beef cumin pan-friend dumplings. Zhajiangmian was decent, not my favorite. Great QPR – everything’s $8.99 or $9.99.

Nice! The zhongzi has such a nice variety of fillings.

I am interested in more of JLee mama’s food!

Northern Cafe renames Temple City branch Jiao Zi Bao, similar to what they did to branches in Pasadena and Westwood Village (with different names).

Lily’s Kitchen at 417 W Main St, Alhambra has closed as of earlier this month. Bummed I didn’t get a chance to try it

hope it has the same menu!!! Their king crab hot pot is insane.

sucks that place was good.

I just care about the Monterey Park location. Tell me it’s still the same.

As far as I know it is. Besides that location is it’s own world.

Chef Tony to Las Vegas. When they closed Pasadena I started to wonder, but with this and Grauman’s Chinese they must be doing OK.

Perhaps they’ve tapped some funding to become the dim sum equivalent of Din Tai Fung (just my speculation)…

Big investors. I think their location choices are odd tho.
