Asadero Los Angeles (a/k/a Tacos Entre Amigos)

Starting a thread dedicated to Asadero Los Angeles because there have been many positive reports here. (For example: this thread, this one, March 2026 rundown, Feb 2026 rundown, July 2025 rundown.) This place seems to also go by, or maybe used to go by, Tacos Entre Amigos. It sits on the east side of the parking lot of Pavilions at Melrose & Vine.

They posted a new menu on IG today (below). Does anyone know what to make of the “tasting menu” section?

Maybe their way of saying house specialties?

What is the appropriate bang bang or bar to go before/after this spot? I cannot journey to Hollywood without something extra.

That’s a good question!

If you wanted to bang with another street food spot, you could consider Taqueria Juquilita, which has some good al pastor (though I’m not a big al pastor person, so take that for what it’s worth). This is at 4th & Western. If you go there, stop in at Anko across the street for some outstanding taiyaki after.

There is another taco stand in the same parking lot as Asadero, called Guelaguetza. I found it underwhelming but it’s very popular so I seem to be in the minority.

If you wanted to move away from street food but still stay casual, you could head up to Thai Town and try any number of places – Northern Thai Food Club, Roast Duck by Pa Ord, Luv2Eat, Jitlada, etc. Or you could head to Melrose Hill and be the first FTCer to try Roshona Bilash. Report back if you do!

Also in Melrose Hill, if you wanted to kick it up a notch, you could try Bar Etoile or Bar 109. Or, in the other direction, Stir Crazy on Melrose (only open weekdays).

You also won’t be far from the northwest edge of Ktown, which opens up lots of options if you want to go crazy.

This is super helpful, thanks. Too bad Asadero LA isn’t open on Tuesdays. I’d do them then the Bar 109 burger! But you’ve given me lots of ideas. Excited to head out that way.

Ha, my first thought was to bang with the Bar 109 Burger until I realized the days don’t line up! It doesn’t get as much press, but Bar 109 typically does wagyu sliders on Wednesday nights, so if you go to Asadero on a Wednesday you could pair it with slider night.

Now we’re talking. Hopefully the burger days get expanded. The hot dog, while wonderful, is just a little too rich for me.

Totally agree with @sk8uno re: Guelaguetza, but someone else on here mentioned their suadero is good, which I haven’t tried yet.

Tonchin is walkable from Asadero Los Angeles. Iki Ramen (in Hollywood) is also close by. Both have lighter options as a first bang.

Also, save room for churros at the stand on the other side of the Pavilions parking lot! The west side of the lot, along Lillian Way.

Remember Awan is in walking distance. Truly, my favorite ice cream.

X 2 for Juquilita. I have them as one of the best al pastor specialists

Edit x 2 for Awan!

are you eating meat again? Lol been trying to figure out from your more recent reviews? wasn’t there a vegan stage?

I am not just my recs when I was. It’s probably hypocritical for me to give recs tbh I spent years driving, walking, public transport hunting down LA tacos. I miss the vibes and hospitality of these places even though I am an outsider with elementary Spanish at best.

Guelagetza sounds like a choricera specialist so suadero would be the move. Between Asadero, Guelagetza, and Juquilita you got a nice little taco trio here. Probably the best in that area.

The move is to HH at Tu Madre, Asadero, then Awan. All within walking.

Guelaguetza I’m pretty sure has a couple of taco stands I did not love their fritanga style tacos the last couple of times

Mario’s seafood for a heaping amount of Peruvian big portions hot aji sauce. We actually like inti down the street more but Mario’s is the more popular of the two.

Also you’re nearby Sonny’s pizza which is currently my favorite ny style in LA or you could do mozzaplex which is just down the street.

@sk8uno echoing luv2eat and pa ord duck are also close by and great

also if you want a mangonada or raspado this guy does it the best in LA western/melrose

Arrachera and al pastor, easily the best tacos ive had all year :drooling_face::drooling_face: Absolutely incredible, thank you FTC members, and whoever discovered this! Will be back to try the rest of the meats

What level of done-ness did you get on the arrachera? I did medium and was disappointed again. I get a lot of salt but little to no smoke. Maybe they need to be well-done? Same story with the asada burrito, though the pollo asado was nice. I really want to like this place given the creativity of the menu, how nice the guys are, and its location.

I’ve been a few times and agree. Execution varies on how busy they are and whether they have a third person working.

Cachetada with flank and arrachera on corn have been my faves so far.
